Tyrion needs a hug (games of thrones)

Tyrion felt his whole world crash and burn when he saw Shae kissing his father. It hurt so much; he couldn’t breathe for much more. His eyes stung painfully, and his chest burnt furiously, like his heart was literally breaking. So slowly without even being noticed, he walked away to his chambers.

When he arrived, he collapsed by to his side and cried in deep agony. He knew he’d break eventually but he didn’t know when. So in feeling himself break in pieces, he just let himself.

Until, he heard his chamber door open.

Instantly in hearing it, he sat up and wiped his eyes furiously, as he checked to see who had rudely arrived.

“Tyrion, what’s happened?” Jamie said as he was passing by and heard his deep painful cries.

In hearing him, Tyrion smiled a small smile while answering hoarsely “Its okay, I just needed some time, and rest that’s all.”

“On the floor, while crying?”

“Yes as I’m too tipsy to climb on my lovely made bed”

In hearing him, Jamie rolled his eyes as he sat beside him and said in a soothing manner “its okay, you know. Crying I mean. You can let it out if you need to, there’s no shame in that.”

Tyrion’s nodded but realized how close they were, so slowly he shuffled away while saying in a calm but slightly tight tone “I’m fine, but thank you for your concern”

Again in hearing him, Jamie rolled his eyes and pulled him close, as he knew what he was doing. He always did it when they were kids. Whenever he made a deep gesture, his little brother always moved away, like he was afraid.

In being pulled, Tyrion’s eyes widen as he didn’t want to be cuddled. He wasn’t an infant child, so he shouldn’t be treated like one. So in a quick response as he tried to escape, he said “Honestly Jamie, I’m fine, leave me be.”

But nothing worked his way, as Jamie pulled him close on to his lap and held him tight in his grasp while running his hands through his hair, to make him feel comfortable there.
At first in feeling the touch, Tyrion flinched and said in surprise, while shaking “I’m honestly fine, I’m just requiring rest. Please brother, let me rest. I-I ne-ed rest.”

The sound of his voice, broke Jamie’s heart, he hadn’t heard him this distraught since they were children. So slowly while ignoring him, he shushed him and rocked him slightly while continuing to hold him.

His body shook and twisted as he knew he wanted to leave him. But Jamie wasn’t going to allow that. His baby brother needed comfort so he didn’t care if he didn’t want it, he knew he needed it.

It didn’t take much longer, before the sobs escaped, Tyrion mouth. He tried his best to stay strong but he just couldn’t anymore. The warmth and kindness of his brother’s efforts, made his own efforts of being strong, fade.

In hearing and feeling him cry, Jamie sighed in relief as he couldn’t deny how much he needed to feel him cry. He needed him to release it so he sooth him and help him.
So slowly he rubbed his back and whispered occasionally in a soothing tone “everything’s gunna be alright, I promise, I’m here brother”.

In response, with hearing those comforting words, Tyrion cried deep into his shirt and snuggled himself in, with the grasp of his brothers shirt. He felt as if he needed to hide now.

Hours passed till at last the cries of his little brother died down and were replaced with occasional snores. It was calming to have him relaxed in his grip; he hadn’t been this close since they were kids. But the only problem with this was he couldn’t leave him.

So slowly he gently carried him and placed him gently on the bed, whilst still holding him in his arms. The movement didn’t even disturb him, he only snuggled in closer and held tighter into his shirt. He seemed so fragile and innocent asleep, it was sweet for his brother to see.

This was a something Jamie knew he’d cherish forever, being close together. Holding him, protecting him and snuggling him close forever.
